last minute stuff Apr. 10th, 2007 @ 01:14 am
I have to take a breather for a second. I'm not gonna pull an all-nighter or anything, but I need to procrastinate a little.

That's so cool - you guys read my stuff!

Anyway, I have a lab presentation and a job interview tomorrow. Plus, I've got an essay and a lab report, all due this week. Have I started on the written stuff yet? Yeah, sure, ofcourse. I never write lab reports the night before. Not ever.

Crazy lab presentation with my group took all day to prepare- far longer than any of us anticipated. That was...wow, almost 12 hours spent together today. I think we just giggled most of the time though over james bond posters and slogans.

Okay, I'm tired. Yay! Up at 6:00!

today's entry Apr. 8th, 2007 @ 01:06 am
I know I said I don't generally like using livejournal because I don't think anyone really cares at what exact time I brushed my teeth and that sort of thing, but I feel the peer pressure to do it. :P

I got new glasses today. They are Roots, and I think I almost like the case I got with it better than the glasses themselves. The case is very nice. It's like, black and leathery, and magnetic-ish, and won't lose it's shape.

Oh yeah, my glasses have somewhat of cat's eye. I like :)

I went to this place connected to East is East on Broadway. Guys, you have GOT to try this restaurant!!! It is TOTALLY awesome. Highly recommended. It has this really unique interior and sort of reminds me of the kind of exotic restaurant that they always went to in "Along came Polly". In other words, if you can't handle the spice (not hot spicy but just unusual spicy), maybe you should go for the swiss chalet across the street. :P

It's amusing. I'll probably be wearing my glasses for the next two weeks or so until the novelty of wearing my new glasses wears off and I revert back to my contacts. Don't get used to me with glasses on. However, it is a nice break from getting dry eyes from the contacts. Even if I don't fall asleep on the bus, the contacts make my eyes feel a heck of a lot like raisins once I exit the doors.

Hey I just realized - that picture actually makes it look like I can play the guitar for real. Hehe.

I love this... Jan. 14th, 2007 @ 12:23 am
So you know, my laptop sucks at the moment and won't connect to the internet, and this means that I'm forced to use the main computer - which really is a downer, because it's slow, disorganized (which I really get antsy at). My sister enjoys leaving her msn on, so I like to make the odd snide remark at the fools that bother me while I'm doing homework (or procrastinating, incidentally).

FRIEND: Heyy.

"LAURA": sorry - Laura's not here at the moment, but enjoys leaving her msn on for my internet surfing annoyance

FRIEND: Ok.

It's raining. Really really hard. I'm in my old upstairs room, and it sounds really great from inside up high, but I know it's really terrible from outside down low. Thus, I do not want to go to school tomorrow, even though the thought of listening to my biochem prof's monotone voice and watching him waste paper using that awful video-output projector is most tempting. I'd much rather stay in bed all day long, feeling glad I'm not one of those sorry folk commited by their mundane daily activities to walk and grovel in the muck.

...means they don't really know what the weather's gonna be, so might as well throw a little bit of everything in.

Dear diary,

I really love sushi. Really really love sushi. It's like turkey you see - I can never get sick of that either, because there is cold turkey to be eaten, turkey sandwiches to be made, turkey congee to had...

Sushi's not that versatile, but I can eat sushi everyday, anyhow.

Daily enlightenment: I learned how to style my hair to just the way I like it. Hair is very finicky. Sometimes I wish I were a guy, and I could just have short hair and not ever care about anything. Let me tell you, styling hair takes a very long time in the morning. If you can, at all costs, avoid hair. Shave your head bald. Trust me.

I've made several small discoveries over the past week:

-I rock at making salads
-I have a really busy schedule that scares me
-I lost my favorite sunglasses
-looking at my timetable makes me weep
-but at least I'm still better than you at making salads.
» Nice Birthday Party
Highlights:
Watching waterfight participants work the dryer, delicious Italian cake and green tea, getting nervous about the buses, playing on the beautiful Yamaha, meeting and chatting up awesome people, stalking the cats, corn cobs and carrots, meeting spiders in dark, confined places...

I'm probably forgetting stuff, and I'll just add it in. I still don't know what "ETA" stands for, but I won't use it unless I feel like it.
» My First Journal Entry
Wow darn, my first "journal entry." What a proud moment. My head is spinning in anticipation. Hmmm. What to put in a public journal. Hmmm. Well, not much I guess. Let me think. Today, I got up later than I wanted to (because I went to sleep later than I wanted to), brushed my teeth, bused to UBC for the COOP meeting, was convinced by the COOP people to stay in COOP, saw cool people, bussed home, had dinner with a friend, procrastinate in my dungeon with my laptop, and well, I guess it brings me to this moment. I'm pretty darn exciting. My journal's so juicy. Oh the thrill of having everyone being able to see it, huh.
